Both a painter and an etcher, Cotton was born in Toronto, Canada. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and with E.M. Wilson in London (1911). He lived in Southern California during the 1920's. His aquatints, etchings, watercolors and oils always received most favorable reviews. Our aquatint reflects the soft impressionist colors and style.
