Sloan (American, 1871- 1954) Rector's Daughter, 1923. M211, iv/iv. Etching Edition of 60. 3 7/8 x 4 7/8 inches. Signed and dated in the plate. Signed, titled and numbered in the plate by the artist. Ann rector is seated in a room full of framed prints, casually displayed (possibly Sloan's own apartment) and seems to have her eyes focused on a work that brings a smile to her face-- a work that would be immediately to our left (in the real world). |
